Office Hours
Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Saturday 9:00am to 12 Noon
Evening hours by appointment only
We are always available to parents and strive to provide the best possible medical care. Therefore, when the office is closed, one of our physicians is on call 24 hours a day. Please be advised that for life-threatening emergencies, a parent should immediately dial 911. For emergent care after 5:00pm and before opening the next morning, please call our main office number (913) 384-5500 where you will be directed to our answering service. All other issues, including routine prescription refills and non-threatening medical conditions, are not appropriate after hours.
Patients are seen in our office by scheduled appointment and during our walk-in hours. We encourage you to make well check appointments as far in advance as possible. Every attempt is made to schedule sick appointments with your primary doctor; however, if your doctor is unavailable, your child may be scheduled with one of our other physicians or nurse practitioners.
If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, we appreciate your call as soon as possible to allow for another patient to see the physician. Our providers make every attempt to stay as close to their schedule as possible. If you are more than twenty minutes late for a scheduled appointment, we will ask you to reschedule. This allows for the next patients to be seen on time. Thank you for your cooperation.
Phone calls regarding your child are answered by an all RN/LPN nursing staff. If a nurse is not available at the time of your call, a message will be taken and the nurse will return your call, within one hour if possible. It is also helpful to have your pharmacy number available if a prescription is needed.

Walk-In Hours
Johnson County Pediatrics offers walk-in hours for established patients Monday through Thursday from 8:00 until 11:00 am and 1:30 until 4:30 pm, and on Friday from 8:00 until 11:00 am. On Saturday, walk in hours are in the morning from 9:00 until 12 noon. To decrease your wait time, it is often best to come weekdays between 8 and 9:30 when more providers are available.
You may bring in your sick child to be seen without an appointment or phone call during these times. Children are seen on a first come first served basis, with the obvious exception of emergent care. Children are seen by whichever provider is first available, not necessarily their primary physician. We encourage only established patients with acute illnesses during the walk-in. Children with fractures, laceration repairs, chronic problems (longer than two weeks) and behavioral issues must be seen by their primary physician at another scheduled appointment. Children who only need a follow-up booster immunization or who need their routine immunizations because they were not given at a well checkup due to the child’s illness may also be seen during these walk-in hours.
Because there are additional costs to be conveniently open on Saturday morning for walk-in patients, there is an extra charge of $15.00 when a patient is seen on a Saturday. This amount is filed with your insurance company and is often a covered benefit. Please call the business office if you have specific questions regarding this.
