We are delighted that you have chosen a physician from our growing pediatric practice to care for your child.
You can always visit our website for more information regarding our practice. Please complete the new patient form on line, and when you come for your child’s appointment, please bring your insurance cards for you and/or your child. We are excited to meet you and the newest addition to your family!
We are also on Facebook and YouTube.
What is your position on immunizations?
Immunizations are a critically important part of your child’s general health. We follow the nationally standardized immunization schedule put forth by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which is also endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. These vaccines are safe and have undergone rigorous, well-controlled scientific studies and testing. The immunization schedule can be found in our office as well as on our website. More information on vaccines is available at these websites:
Center for Disease Control – www.cdc.gov
American Academy of Pediatrics – www.aap.org
We are in the business of “preventative medicine”. An important part of disease prevention is appropriate, timely immunizations. If you do not plan on immunizing your child, Johnson County Pediatrics may not be the fit for your medical needs.
Which hospitals do we utilize?
Our doctors have privileges to see patients at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Saint Luke’s South and Menorah Medical Center. We typically see newborns and inpatient pediatric patients each morning. If you are delivering at another hospital, you will need to arrange for a physician who manages newborns (another pediatrician) to see your baby while you are at that hospital. We do not have arrangements with other pediatric groups at many area hospitals; just ask the maternity care coordinator at the hospital where you are delivering your baby. Call us anytime after delivery to set up a one week appointment.
Babies and children that are admitted from our clinic for an illness that requires hospitalization may also go to Children’s Mercy South or Children’s Mercy main hospital downtown. This will depend on your insurance, your choice and possibly other criteria.
If I schedule an appointment with my doctor will I always see him or her?
We offer scheduling availability with all the doctors and nurse practitioners on staff. Pictures and background information can be found on our Providers Page. When possible, you will be scheduled with your primary care physician. We also offer a “walk-in” clinic which operates from 8 am – 11 am each weekday morning and from 9 am – 12 noon on Saturdays. Saturday visits have an extra $15 charge. During walk-in hours, your physician may not be available. This clinic is conducted on a first come, first served basis; however, severely ill children will be seen as soon as possible.
