Behavioral Health
Does Your Child Need a Behavioral Health Evaluation?
Children may experience challenges with emotions, behavior, attention, or school that can affect daily life at home and in the classroom. Our pediatricians work with families and community-based mental health providers to evaluate concerns, provide support, and help connect children with appropriate resources.
We can help address concerns such as:
- Inattention and difficulty staying focused
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Behavioral concerns
If you have concerns about your child's behavioral or emotional health, our team can help guide you through the next steps. We will discuss your concerns and learn more about your child to help determine the most appropriate next steps. If a behavioral evaluation is recommended, we will help coordinate the visit and provide any necessary questionnaires to complete beforehand.
What We Do
What to Expect
All questionnaires and requested forms should be completed before your appointment.
On the day of your child's behavioral evaluation, please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. We recommend that your child arrive well-rested and prepared to participate in the visit.
You and your child will meet with your pediatrician, who will complete a thorough evaluation, discuss your concerns, and develop a behavioral health plan to support your child's needs.
If medication is prescribed, your child will have a follow-up visit in approximately 1 month to review progress, monitor response, and make any needed adjustments. This appointment can be scheduled before you leave the office.

Ongoing Medication Management
If your child is started on medication, a follow-up visit will be scheduled within 1 month to review how the medication is working, monitor for any concerns, and make adjustments if needed. Once your child is doing well and their medication plan is stable, follow-up visits are typically scheduled every 6 months or sooner if concerns arise.
