Abby Loch, MD, FAAP

Dr. Abby Loch came to Johnson County Pediatrics in the summer of 2011. She is accepting new patients, and sees patients Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Dr. Loch grew up in rural Iowa, and she describes her parents as her heroes.

“They have been great examples to me,” she said. “They have a strong work ethic, are intelligent, and take nothing for granted. Their support throughout my education has been nothing short of amazing.”

She wanted to be a doctor from a young age. “I always wanted to be a doctor, minus a brief period in the second grade when I wanted to be a marine biologist so I could swim with dolphins,” she said. “Aside from that it's always been a doctor.”

Dr. Loch came to Johnson County Pediatrics after completing her residency at Children's Mercy Hospital. She graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and the University of Kansas School of Medicine .

When deciding on a practice to join, several pediatricians who she knows recommended Johnson County Pediatrics.

“I enjoy being a pediatrician,” she says. “I just love kids, their attitudes and their ability to deal with illnesses. They are very resilient.”

She has found the staff at JoCo Peds professional, friendly and approachable. Dr. Loch sees patients during appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. She offers evening appointments on Tuesdays.

She is married to Jaimie Loch, and they have two sons. In her free time she enjoys going to concerts, movies and checking out new restaurants. She and her husband also enjoy traveling.
